the 6 best unconventional THINGS TO DO (for us!) in OPORTO
We strongly believe that being a traveller doesn’t necessary means discovering the most famous turistical spots.
That’s why we suggest you this unconventional list (the order is random) of the best spots in Oporto:
GUIDED TOUR
If you don’t love the usual sightseeing tours, check here this excellent alternative if you want to get lost in the most typican neighborhood of Oporto: THE WORST TOUR offers guided walks on the eastside, or through the ‘Islands’ of Oporto (‘Ilhas’, in porto-speak), or through romantic routes and a lot else.
EAT FISH
Do you like bike, fish and the breeze of the ocean?
Visit Afurada, the fisherman village in Gaia, on foot or by bike.
The less turistical part of Oporto but at the same time one of the best native neighborhood.
ENJOY SUNSET
If you like sunsets, visit the Passeio das Virtudes park.
Sit on the grass, drinking the local beer (“Super Bock” or “Nortada”) and have one of the best landscapes that you can find in the city.
HAVE A BREAK
Eat the typical bolinhos de bacalhau!
Fried bowl made by mashed potatoes, codfish, chopped and onion! You can find it everywhere.
ENJOY THE SEASIDE
Go to Miramar.
Take a train from the São Bento station and get off in Miramar. Enjoy the beautiful beach with a little church on the shore. Feel the oceanic breeze and have a break from the city center!
VISIT A LIGHTHOUSE
Go to Foz on foot or by bike.
“Foz” means the area where the river meets the ocean. Have a relaxing walk, enjoing the sunset over the ocean and the lighthouse.
